Blue Door Veterinary Services

Blue Door Veterinary Services is a locally owned, woman owned, strictly mobile veterinary practice servicing the greater Portland, OR metropolitan area. We practice high quality, full-service veterinary care for predominately small animals but there are options to see pet chickens, goats and other exotics and offer complimentary medicine as well. We see 4-6 appointments per day giving you time to develop strong relationships and trust with your clients/patients. We are considered more of a mobile practice than an “in-home” practice if that resonates with you; we see the majority of our patients in one of our mobile clinics with only a few seen in the home.

Our current mobile veterinary clinics include a “fully loaded” Sprinter van clinic for our daily appointments and a 26’ long mobile veterinary clinic (a Laboit) with all the general practice bells and whistles. We have paperless records (VetBadger), on-board Abaxis (now Zoetis) blood machines, and digital Min X-Ray systems in addition to a modest pharmacy, vaccinations and treatments options for our daily sick and preventative care appointments on both rigs. The “big rig” has the same amenities as well as digital dental x-rays, a high speed dentistry unit and a separate surgery suite with isoflurane anesthesia. Our clientele is made up of pet owners who are dedicated to their pets and want to be involved in their pets' care. We pride ourselves as a clinic in being transparent and complete with regards to all options for our patients and working as a team with our clients for the best outcome for their animals.

Blue Door Veterinary Services

Associate Mobile Veterinarian in Portland, OR

We are currently a 1.5 doctor practice and are looking for a self-motivated veterinarian with a couple years of experience to join our growing team (though confident new grads are welcome to apply). You will have a fair amount of autonomy as the only veterinarian on the mobile truck each day after training so clinical decision making will be largely on your own (though there’s always the chance to phone a friend!). You also get a dedicated vet assistant on the mobile clinic with you each day and a remote receptionist to man the client communications. Our goal is to expand to multiple mobile veterinary clinics over the next few years, and we are looking for veterinarians who want to operate their own mobile unit but leave the management and ownership headaches to someone else.

If you are a veterinarian interested in the mobile model but don’t want to give up surgery and full diagnostic work-ups/full-service care, then we are the practice for you! We are looking for a vet to work two to four days a week. Schedule is M-F but could include Saturdays if that was preferred. No emergency on-call!

Salary range is $55-110k depending on number of days worked, with annual reevaluation of salary in light of production (no negative adjustments). Relocation assistance, CE stipend, PTO, OR license fee paid annually, PLIT and DEA fees paid after 1 year of service, and medical insurance reimbursement benefits available (90 day waiting period). E-mail with resume and cover letter to apply!

-Oregon DVM in good standing (or eligibility to apply)
-DEA license
-Experience driving large vehicles is a plus, but is not required - only required is a willingness to learn to drive them!
